Difficulty with thinking, attention, and memory is common after a stroke. One of my favorite ways to improve cognition is to make a 3 or 4 step recipe.
You don’t have to get super fancy! A boxed pancake mix, muffin mix, or pasta salad kit will do. Reading and following through with a recipe can challenge and improve recall, organizing and planning, as well as appropriately moving step by step.Try to have fun and enjoy something tasty at the end 😊
*Of course, make sure to have help if you have problems with sensation or memory that may cause safety issues!
