Disability Psychotherapy Ireland and Callan Institute, Saint John of God Community Services clg.
This series is designed for families, carers and professionals. Each webinar will explore emotional wellbeing in the context of living with disability and provide detailed guidance on how best to support emotional wellbeing in our relationships. Speakers come from the fields of psychotherapy, psychology, psychiatry and embodied therapeutic practice, with previous speakers covering new material and topics. Self-care and reflection will also be examined.

The first webinar will feature Dr Valerie Sinason, PhD PGTC MACP M Inst. Psychoanal., (BPC, APC, UKPC) Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist. Dr Valerie Sinason; a poet, writer, child psychotherapist and adult psychoanalyst. She was Founder Director of the Clinic for Dissociative Studies until her retirement from long-term clinical work in December 2016. Dr Sinason is renowned for her ground breaking work with children and adults with intellectual disability. Her work continues to have a transformative impact on practitioners and the treatment and services facilitated by them. She continues with writing, supervising and short term assessments.
