Mr. Parker explains why it’s perfectly normal to worry about a lot of different things and how that can make us feel. Even though feeling worried is normal there are a lot of different things we can do to face our fears and not let them control us. He also talks about how exercise can be one of the best ways to clear our heads and not worry as much. Sports, playing tag, or even just going for a walk can help clear your mind and feel better. Getting enough sleep is also really important to reduce our anxiety. Mr. Parker then sings an awesome song about how we can control our actions and not let worry control us.
I’m facing my fears on a Monday
My worries have been getting the best of me

My stomach feels like butterflies, my heads been telling me I’m not the been
Been staying up all l, cuz I can’t get no rest
So I take a deep breath slowly let it out I’m starting to calm down
Maybe I’ll go for a walk, maybe I’ll do some yoga maybe I’ll just talk to my friends
I’m trying to calm down worrying is total natural
I have a ton of skills and they are gonna help me
I can only control myself
Mr. Parker has a wide range of experience including teaching at the university level, working in elementary, middle, and high schools and using music to make social-emotional skills relatable. He’s been playing the guitar and drums for over 15 years and loves making music. He believes music allows us to relax, have fun, and better remember things we are learning. He’s found that just listening to music can calm our nerves, help us smile more and better understand our feelings.
