Students are taught a wide array of poses that develop stamina, flexibility, balance, and concentration. Introduction and expanded study of more intermediate poses (including headstand) and pranayama is taught.
Due to the great attention to alignment, students gain a sharpening of awareness that strengthens them physically, intellectually, and psycho-emotionally. They experience an increase in vitality as they develop methods for relieving stress. Props are used to aid in correct structural alignment as well as safely modifying poses for students who have limited mobility due to injury or illness. Sarah Tuttle is a certified Iyengar teacher.
